Ordained ministry as someone who will receive a stipend in Carlisle Diocese will usually involve being a Mission Community Leader or working in an oversight role within a Mission Community. The role is to encourage and develop others, as part of a team, to perform leadership and roles of service within the Mission Community context.
To be considered for stipendary ministry a person must be selected for ordained ministry as a priest (incumbent status) and be nationally deployable (although we will always need priests here in Cumbria). A person needs to be ordained before they are 58 years old to be considered for this ministry.
